A Dramatic Journey Through Light and Shadow
The Lightmares series is a collection of conceptual images documenting my father’s struggle with a rapidly progressing and ultimately fatal cancer. Luminosity vs. darkness became my extant and figurative world. Color became my vernacular. This three-year project, from 1980-1983, became both cathartic and transformative for me; indelibly capturing what is perhaps the most traumatic moment in my life.
